Daily Cyclist Hunt

Just taken part in what has become part of the morning routine here in Oxford - the daily chase of cyclists with the morning bus. I think cyclists in Oxford really have to have that desire to live on the edge.

Had some interesting sessions about Twitter yesterday, although the whole Twitter thing seems quite stressful. Don't know quite how to use it in my own teaching at this point. Also had a great afternoon in Bath - it was quite an experience to see the Roman baths, and the whole city of bath was just very cosy and friendly. Also enjoyed spending a few hours chatting with my host family. They're really great, I was fortunate to get such a great host family.

Today I'm all in for shopping in the afternoon, and we were also thinking of going to the concert (prayer?) in Christ Church College. My host parents are off to a tango dancing event tonight, and I should get down to packing together my belongings. Late night tomorrow and an early start on Saturday to get to Heathrow on time.

The naked cook and host families

Nice day yesterday, especially enjoyed the walking tour in Oxford and Christ Church college. Had an excellent evening out at Jamie's Italian.Jamie, the naked chef, was evidently born in Oxford and opened his first restaurant here. Wish I could import Jamie's Italian to Finland.

Wonder if there are specially developed showers for exchange students. Showers that don't let a whole lot of water through. The shower at my host family's place seems to be developed for bald dwarfs. Gotta be a lot of those coming through.

Living in a host family is different. Think I've got a super family though, they are really nice and they make me feel very welcome.

Woke up at 5 this morning all stressed out about all the interesting things I'ld still like to see in Oxford. Today, though, Maria and I are headed for Bath - *reeaally* looking forward to that!
